Climate Change

Almost 200 nations adopted a Climate Change agreement at the December 2015 COP21 summit in Paris. This agreement aims to limit our planets global temperature rise to less than 2 degrees Celsius.

As seen in the NASA chart below, CO2 levels were relatively steady over the last 450,000 years but have risen alarmingly since 1950. These levels are driving global warming and all indications are that this has been caused by human society.

The Geological Society of America concurs with assessments by the National Academics of Science, the National Research Council and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that the global climate has warmed and that human activities account for most of the warming since the mid 1900’s.
